The Owner's Story

My name is Marvin Meyer from Colorado. I’ve owned this car since I was 15 and it was my first car. I’ve owned it now for 54 years. Some facts about my car; The most asked question is what color is that? The color is a custom blend of Sherwin-Williams called “Silvereen”. Custom interior is black with Jade leather inserts. Some unique features inside is the use of Bel-Air fins and Chevy emblems. The Original hood “V” ornament was wrapped in leather and incorporated in the custom trunk. The engine is 434cu all aluminum dart with a F1 Pro Charger. Transmission is a 700r4 race built Suspension is a tubular A- arm from Jim Meyer racing. Rear end is a Ford narrowed 9 inch and Big Baer brakes is what stops the car. The wheels are Bilet Specialty Stilettos. fronts are 18” with 20” rears wrapped in Pirelli rubber. This car was rebuilt in a 3-car garage except for the paint and interior. Myself along with my brother Jim Meyer built this car enjoying the time spent together and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Thank you!

The History

The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is arguably the most iconic American automobile ever built, representing the pinnacle of 1950s automotive design and cultural optimism. Chevrolet redesigned the entire lineup for 1957, lowering the roofline and adding dramatic tailfins that captured the jet-age spirit of postwar America. The two-door hardtop Sport Coupe became the crown jewel of the range, offering pillarless elegance that turned heads everywhere it appeared. What made 1957 truly special was the availability of the legendary fuel-injected 283 cubic inch V8, producing one horsepower per cubic inch — a milestone achievement that stunned the automotive world. Chevrolet produced over 166,000 Bel Air Sport Coupes that year, yet demand from collectors has never wavered. These cars appeared in countless films, television shows, and have become synonymous with American nostalgia. The 1957 Bel Air helped establish Chevrolet's performance reputation that would carry through the muscle car era. Today, pristine examples command serious money, and even project cars are fiercely sought after. Owning one means possessing a genuine piece of Americana.
